Job Description
Scope of Work
- Complete a desk review of current pre-service curricula and materials to identify training needs and gaps that need to be addressed
- Working with the Ministry of Health and relevant stakeholders, coordinate the sensitization, review, and updating of pre-service curricula to include:
- Maternal and newborn health (Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC); Post Abortion Care, Maternal Perinatal Death and Surveillance and Response (MPDSR); Self-Care Guidelines; Continuum of Care Package, Maternal New-born health commodities, Obstetric Point of Care Ultrasound, Maternal newborn health standards, Fistula training, National Guidelines for quality obstetrics and perinatal care; and Reproductive Health Policy).
- Family Planning (LNGIUS/ DMPA SC Orientation Package, Family Planning Training Packages (Module 1 – Family Planning, Module 2- Post-Partum Family Planning; and Module 3 – Voluntary Surgical Contraceptives); Health Products and Technologies Management); and
- Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (Youth friendly training manual, Understanding Adolescence, and ASRH Parents & Caregivers’ Guideline)
- Working with the MOH, coordinate training for preservice and in-service trainers and service providers on the revised MOH updated guidelines.
- Undertake other related duties as requested
Qualifications, experience, skills, and languages
- University degree in Medicine (Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics); Nursing; Community medicine, Public Health or another related field from an accredited/recognized institute.
- At least ten 9-10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Adolescent Health (SRMNAH).
Skills
- Proven knowledge of sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and adolescent health within the context of capacity building and training
- Ability to analyze technical documents such as curricula, policies, standards, and guidelines to identify salient issues, formulate opinions, and make conclusions and recommendations.
- Ability to engage, build consensus, communicate effectively, and commit to collaborating effectively with other key partners in the SRMNAH program landscape.
- Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to write documents logically and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact to effectively communicate with senior-level officials, multiple stakeholders, and professionals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds; and
- Strong professional oral communication and writing skills, including the development of reports, oral presentations, and technical/persuasive documents.
Languages
