Job Description

About Key responsibilities and Duties

Support the regular update and management of databases, spreadsheets, and other data tools; ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency, and comparability; consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis.

Prepare first drafts of information products such as reports, maps, charts, and info graphics by turning data into graphical products; develop advocacy materials including reports, dashboards, and other visual materials.

Support with the management of content on relevant web platforms, assuring overall quality control for the platform and ensure content is current, comprehensive and follows relevant metadata standards.

Carry-out other activities as requested by the Team Leader. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:

Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);

Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;

Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;

Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;

Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;

Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Required all Qualification details and Experiences, How to apply

Bachelor degree or equivalent in information science, statistics, data analysis, geographic information science or other related area.

6 months of relevant experience in information management, data science, geospatial science, or related.

Experience in data entry and analysis software is required.

Knowledge of turning data into visual infographics is required.

Knowledge of mapping data into a GIS software is required.

Knowledge of PowerBI software for data visualization will be an asset.

Knowledge and experience of ArcGIS Online will be an asset.

Languages:

English, Level: Fluent, Required
