Job Description
Scope of Work:
- The LTA holder will be contracted by individual programme sections in ESARO or country office teams, and / or country office teams, and depending on the needs the main tasks are likely to include:
- Conceive, design and produce visual communication materials, including briefs and short reports, that illustrate and enhance communication around UNICEF’s work and issues affecting children;
- Layout and design written documents, in line with corporate brand guidance.
- Review and select images from UNICEF’s online database, to complement design and layout, following UNICEF ethical imagery and caption guidance
- Develop infographics for programme sections, and key advocacy themes
- Provide all materials in raw and final files to UNICEF ESARO or the commissioning office, through electronic transfer to a public drive.
- The material will be compiled following the UNICEF technical and ethical guidelines.
- The material will be distributed internally at UNICEF and externally with partners for advocacy purposes, to both traditional and social media outlets.
Requirements:
- A first-level university degree in a related field
- A minimum of 5 years relevant professional work experience in graphic design: Print, web, graphics for social media, infographics, large-format graphics, and various other collateral materials. Video editing and graphics a distinct advantage (additional 2 years experience in lieu of a first degree).
- Knowledge of relevant digital software, web page design and various office applications, specifically interactive digital media including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, with a thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), HTML, and motion graphics/animation
- Ability to support commissioning teams/offices by turning their ideas into written briefs, without jargon, clearly and concisely, in written and oral form.
- Proven ability to research, analyse, evaluate and synthesize information
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and familiarity with UNICEF programmes is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
