Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supporting efforts to Identify and assist in the implementation of cross-sectoral digital engagement tools for data collection, analysis, programme monitoring as well as data visualization approaches

Researching the Identification and application of innovative methods (e.g. machine learning / AI, data mining, remote sensing, predictive analytics, etc.) to improve the production, analysis, usage and dissemination of data

Supporting rollout of the new global Digital Resilience programme of cybersecurity and information governance with focus on Technology-for-Development and Emergency contexts

Supporting the identification, preparedness and implementation of digital platforms for emergencies (i.e.: RapidPro, InForm, DRIP, Primero, HOPE, and IoGT) to ensure swift deployment when needed and adherence to digital resilience principles

Education:

Bachelor degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, information technology management, or another relevant technical field.

Experience:

3 years of experience in information technology management and data analytics.

Experience in a UN organization is an asset.

Proven working experience as aData Analyst or Business Data Analyst

Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)

Experience using statistical or data presentation packages for analyzing datasets (Power BI, Excel, SPSS, SAS etc), particularly in front-end reporting and dashboards

Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.

Self-motivation and ability to adapt professionally in a challenging environment and work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel

Ability to conceptualize ambiguous problems quickly and use data to explore these problems in a way that guides thinking towards evidence-based conclusion.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Languages:

English, Level: Fluent, Required.
