Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide coordination support by ensuring youth-led accountability throughout all outcomes;
Provide substantive guidance and technical support on issues related to CSE and ASRHR;
Support the high-quality delivery of youth-led and/or youth participation events (online and offline), activities and communications;
Lead the development of clear, innovative, consistent and coherent messaging related to ASRHR, including CSE and youth-led advocacy, adolescent health including teenage pregnancy, youth engagement, SRHR of young people, including from key populations, in close collaboration with the SRH teams;
Increase the engagement and leadership of youth organizations, including YKPs in the Global CSE Partnership Forum strategies;
Coordinate global level influence, advocacy and youth-engagement, including young-key populations’ outreach;
Serve as a focal point for the Global Partnership Forum on CSE;
Support advocacy for UNFPA’s global strategy for My Body, My Life, My World including CSE programmes and adolescent health in general and adolescent pregnancy in close collaboration with the SRH, gender, human rights and inclusion teams;
Ensure youth-led accountability to contribute to the overall outcomes, by providing a critical high-level component of the youth-led movement;
Support communications related to the portfolio including regular newsletter related to key information for internal and external purposes;
Provide programme management support including monitoring of activities and finances of the Global Programme on Out-of-School CSE.
Education:
University degree required; Studies in social sciences or related disciplines including public health with specialized knowledge in the field of CSE/ ASRHR is an advantage.
Knowledge and Experience:
2 years’ experience in youth/volunteer participation and youth-led project management and policy development
Experience in development and implementation of youth-led programmes and projects related to comprehensive sexuality education, SRHR, Young key populations, youth and community mobilization at national, regional and global level
Experience in coordination of social media and online platforms and innovative offline tools for comprehensive sexuality education at national/regional/global level
Past involvement in international and/or regional working/advisory groups related to CSE and youth development
Expertise in organizing and maintaining youth-led advocacy campaigns at international and regional level
Have a strong network of youth-led organizations working in the field of ASRHR, and CSE in particular
Languages:
Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages is desirable.
