Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mapping potential and optimal zones for forage production in East Africa.
  • Mapping of areas where rain fed rice is currently grown in East Africa.
  • Extract relevant climate data and soil properties for running the DSSAT perennial forage model.
  •  Collate spatially explicit data on below- and above-ground carbon stocks in dryland.
  • Support any mapping tasks as required by team members within the tropical forages program.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MSc degree in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems Mapping or related fields
  • Proficiency in English, additional language skills considered beneficial.
  • Experience in GIS mapping.
  • Ability to independently and within a team setting.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Past experience in report mapping
